Terry Day, of BRE and LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) retired at the end of January 2008. Terry had been a tireless supporter of the IFSA Technical Committee and forged important relationships between the intumescent sealing industry and the insurers. Terry, being active in the International Standards Organisation (ISO), also helped in gaining recognition of intumescent based products within the ISO arena and, was indeed, active in the writing of standards that helped the industries products get worldwide recognition.
On a lighter note Terry's contribution was not restricted to his technical input and his natural wit surfaced on many occasions, sometimes helping to break the ice at the inevitable time when there may have been inter-company differences in opinion.
IFSA could not let Terry's retirement go unnoticed and consequently he was invited as the guest of IFSA at their Annual General Meeting earlier this year and at the pre-AGM Dinner Terry was presented with a Digital Photo Frame from the IFSA members in recognition of the assistance he had given the Association over his many years of participation. The association wishes Terry all the best for a happy and healthy retirement.
